Chia seeds are one of those foods that little by little have conquered our pantry. Promoted since its arrival on the European market as a "superfood" the Chia is plagued with calcium, omega-3, protein, phosphorus and fiber. It can be added to any beverage, yogurt, breakfast bowl, toast and toss in salads, etc.
We recently discovered how easy it is to make homemade jams and that children love. It is a very easy way to reduce daily sugar consumption.
Raspberry jam, chia and lime seeds
It can be made with fresh raspberries or with a frozen bag of fruit.
Half of the raspberries are put in a saucepan and simmer until they begin to release their juice. It is taken out, the honey is poured and stirred. The chia is poured and the lime juice is mixed well and left 10-15 minutes to cool. When that time has passed and the seeds have "opened" the rest of the raspberries are thrown, mixed and put in the chosen jar and in the fridge until we can enjoy it with a good toast of bread.
