Star anise was originally cultivated in China and Vietnam, also called Badian from China. Its scientific name is Illicium Verum and its smell is very similar to that of normal anise. In traditional Chinese medicine it is used to treat digestive system problems.
Star anise seeds are excellent for providing the body with vitamin B, including thiamine, niacin and riboflavin; It also contains a good amount of antioxidant vitamins such as vitamins A and C. You can make an infusion that helps with a heavy belly and gas. It is made by mixing equal parts green anise, caraway and coriander seeds and 3 stars of star anise.
