Cajun Spices Mix or dressing with Cajun spices

As with so many other condiments or spice preparations, each cook has his tricks and his own recipe . We have decided on the most traditional one. We have not wanted to abuse the spicy, which a touch must have, but without going over, that the lovers of the spicy can always intensify it later more.

These are the spices that our Cajun mix carries:

Oregano, basil, cumin, garlic, parsley, chili, thyme and black pepper.

And also, seeking to give it a more natural texture, we have combined some ground ingredients with other crushed ones, thus achieving an attractive and natural result, very similar to what you would get if you made it in your homes.

Remember that in 1001 spices we make all our mixtures with the same spices and herbs that you can find in our store, we do not use others of inferior quality. And that's why we don't need to add artificial colors, preservatives or additives. Not, of course, salt or flour.

Marinade or sauce:

If you want to prepare a sauce or marinade like the one in the photo on the right, we would only have to mix the following ingredients:

  • Cajun spices.
  • salt to taste.
  • dry white wine, best Rueda type.
  • Virgin olive oil.
Mix well, let stand a few hours, and voila! You can use it to marinate meat, vegetables, etc. before cooking, or use to accompany the meal later, as a sauce, either on the meat or directly on the vegetables (for boiled potatoes, it is a treat).

Usage tips:

We like to give "life" to a traditional meatball recipe by adding 2 teaspoons of Cajun spices when we prepare the meat to form the meatballs .

We also use it to season some grilled shrimp that we then combine with avocado mixed with coriander and lime juice - delicious!
